Meet the Founder
Allow me to introduce myself...
I Am Malinda Williams- wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. I believe less is more, value quality over quantity and reject old habits that keep me from moving forward.
We actors tend to have a lot of free time on set in between shots and even more free time off set, in between gigs. Never one to take time for granted, I’m always looking to learn something new- a skill, a hobby, a sport or just some knowledge I can use to enrich my life experience and perhaps others’ as well.
Years ago, I took a basic HTML coding course- a skill I wasn’t quite sure I needed but one that (true to my father’s sound advice) would allow me to design, build and manage my own personal websites. With the expansion of the internet and the emerging importance of social media, I began to conceive of how my new skill could come together with my passion, to serve a purpose greater than myself. The seed was planted and not long thereafter, I began working on She’s Got A Habit.
“It’s better to have something and not need it than to need something and not have it”. – Fred Williams (my father)
Over the next several years and with the support and encouragement of my husband, my family and my friends, I worked hard at bringing the vision of this platform to life. Start-up life and entrepreneurship is not easy. I would be faced with many challenging situations, personalities and trials where I’d question why I was doing this and whether or not I should even continue forward. I came to understand that this was about more than just my passion.
Purpose is a funny thing. Once you meet and acknowledge its existence, it stalks you. Everything you do that leads you away from its path is merely a distraction and you eventually find yourself faced with it, again and again- until it becomes your passion.
The power of my purpose is bigger than me. It continually leads me to the right answers and eventually back to the path.
I am thrilled to be on this new journey and grateful for the opportunity to share it; with the intention of inspiring, encouraging and empowering.
